TROPICAL, YACHT & 80S ROCK

What a Year it Has Been

Highlights
Check out the highlight video from a recent show at The Gemini Club. Videographer, Dan Pred of Video Media, knows his rock and roll. He's the drummer for the Dan Reed Network. We were lucky to have him capture our performance.
2025 has proven to be a busy year for Beadhead. We've started playing a regular schedule at The Gemini Club in Lake Oswego. We will continue to play a regular schedule at Coyotes. Back at Tigardville Station, Bleachers, and Kells Brewery . We've added some new venues--The Fireside Tavern in Yamhill and the Wild Hare Saloon in Oregon City. 2026 is shaping up with a busy schedule. Be sure to check our upcoming events calendar.

What is Yacht Rock?
Yacht rock is a smooth, melodic soft rock genre that emerged in the late 1970s and early 1980s, characterized by polished production, jazz-influenced chord progressions, and sophisticated studio craftsmanship. The term was coined retroactively in 2005 by the web series "Yacht Rock," though the music itself was originally just considered adult-oriented rock or soft rock.
The genre's primary architects include Steely Dan, Michael McDonald (both solo and with the Doobie Brothers), Christopher Cross, Kenny Loggins, Toto, and Hall & Oates. Signature songs that define the genre include "Sailing" by Christopher Cross, "What a Fool Believes" by the Doobie Brothers, "Rosanna" and "Africa" by Toto, and "Ride Like the Wind" by Christopher Cross.
